KYRGYZSTAN PLANS TO GET USD 15 MLN FROM POWER EXPORTS TO KAZAKHSTAN

This year Electric power station JSC is getting ready to hold the first public sales for exporting the power generated in Kyrgyzstan, our correspondent reports.

Till 2003 Kyrgyzstan had exported power through the intergovernmental protocols on joint use of water and energy resources between the Central Asian states (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan). Thereat the export depended mainly on demands of the adjacent countries in water and foresaw various energy products and material assets exchange.

This year power generation and export will reduce, its feasible volume may hit 1.7-2 bln kWh. 1.3 bln kWh of this volume will be supplied to Uzbekistan, the rest will be exported at the highest price to the regions of South Kazakhstan, experiencing power shortages.
