PREPARATIONS FOR EARTH DAY TAKE PLACE IN KULYAB

13 April representatives of the movement “Green Patrol” met with the officials of the Committee for Environment Protection in Kulyab to discuss the plan for celebration of the “Earth Day”.

“Green Patrols” have been actively working in environment area for 4 years now focusing on the problem of city cleanness, participation of youth in the decision-making process in environment area. Since 2006 activists took the Central City Park under patronage. It organizes different campaigns and activities, including those dedicated to the “Earth Day”. Among these activities the most popular is making items from recycled paper and plastic.

This year this action will take place in the territory of the City Park. It has been confirmed the the Environment Committee of Kulyab will allocate funds for the painting contest. Housing Utilities Department will also take part in the activity by providing special equipment and machinery for utilization of th waste in the park.

The event will take place 22 April. It is planned that more than 500 young people from 10 schools will take part in it.
