Funding
of the Expert Platform

The Platform’s support model combines partner contributions, contract research, and long-term donor backing.

Funding

The Platform is not a legal entity and does not have its own resources. Coordination and activities are carried out on a volunteer basis thanks to contributions from partners.

The main funding source is contracts for research and development work. Customers may include governments, donors, international agencies, the private sector, and other individuals or organizations.

Countries are expected to support the Platform by providing expertise and data, commissioning work, and implementing the results.

Work is also underway with donors to secure support for the Platform during its first five years. In the longer term, a donor trust fund is envisioned as a financing vehicle alongside contract-based research programs and projects coordinated by the Platform.
